<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the telephone set whose current consumption can be reduced by controlling the illumination of an operating button and a display device so as to be lighted for a prescribed time only when the surrounding illuminance gives a lightness or below at which operations of the telephone set are hindered in the case that operation buttons of the telephone set are depressed. <P>SOLUTION: The telephone set is provided with a surrounding illuminance measurement means, which detects the surrounding illuminance on depression of the operation buttons. The telephone set controls the illumination of the buttons and the display device so as to light up the illumination for the prescribed time when the detected illuminance or below causes hindrance to the operations of the telephone set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
