<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for optimizing use of network resources for transmission of data frames, preferably voice frames or the like between network units (3 and 4) in an internet protocol (IP)-supporting network (1). <P>SOLUTION: The method for optimizing the use of network resources for transmission of the data frames, preferably voice frames or the like between the network units (3 and 4) in the internet protocol (IP)-supporting network (1), comprises the step of aligning codec categories corresponding to a different mouth-to-ear delay budget range for the data frames to each of the data or voice frames according to the codecs by means of which the data samples are generated; the step of sorting out the data frames according to their codec categories, the step of generating multiplexed cells from the data frames of a sample codec category, each multiplexed cell being obtained by multiplex aggregation of a predetermined number of voice samples; and the step of transporting the multiplexed cells from an ingress router to an egress router in the IP-network (1). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
