PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain temperature rise of a sealed storage battery. SOLUTION: A vent reaching to a lid from a battery jar and opened to the upper surface of the lid is formed in this storage battery. In the battery jar, a communication hole communicating with the vent thereof and opened to the side face thereof is formed. The vent is divided into at least three by ribs formed vertically, and the lower ends of the ribs are positioned flush with or above the upper end of the opening of the communication hole.
