<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guard socket capable of correctly inserting a card medium in a final insertion position in a simple mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: This card socket is so formed that an ejection bar 40 is advanceably and retreatably installed in one side of a receiver cavity 21 of an IC card 10, an ejector 50 rotating to be interlocked with the advancement and retreat of the ejection bar 40 is provided in the tip side of the ejection bar 40, a projecting piece 53 engageable with the front end surface of the IC card is extended from the ejector 50, and a projection piece 63 engageable with the rear end surface 15 of the IC card 10 is extended from the loader 60. The ejection bar 40 and the loader 60 are biased by torsional coil springs 70 and 80, respectively.
