<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card reader that can eliminate interference to communication using a contact type interface, and protect a contact type interface side properly, when the contact type and a noncontact type of the interfaces are provided to be communicated with an IC card. <P>SOLUTION: When communicated with the IC card via the noncontact type interface (I/F) ('YES' in step B7), a control part of the card reader turns off a contact type electric power source part (step B8), and opens each switch in a circuit-breaking part (step B9) to break electric connection in an output part of the contact type I/F. When communicated via the contact type interface (I/F) ('YES' in step B2), the control part of the card reader turns off a carrier generating part (step B3) to stop an operation of the noncontact type interface (I/F). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
