PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flexibly change an original image data holding effective period for storing the original image data in an image memory. SOLUTION: After storing the original image data in an image data memory area 8a in a compact flash 8, the full-mode Internet facsimile machine 20 for transmitting image data via the Internet 40 by using an e-mail. In the machine, whether to turn on an original image data holding effective period designation mode, namely whether to set to a temporary effective period or semiparmanent effective period can be set by each facsimile machine and by each opposite party, and these pieces of information are stored in the compact flash 8.
