PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for metering network usage usable for charging to a network client. SOLUTION: In the system and the method for extracting information for quantifying service consumption to occur between at least two sites on a network to easily calculate charging data, measuring of the service consumption is related to services to be consumed by a client communicating with the network. The method comprises: monitoring Internet usage by the client; logging the consumption information of data processing resources occurring during the monitored Internet usage; and determining the quantity of data processing resource consumption by the client logged within a defined time period.
