PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a lead-acid storage battery in which slipping off of a control valve can be prevented steadily in a short time in formation of a battery case or in the initial charging. SOLUTION: In a method of formation of the battery case or in the initial charging of the control valve-lead-acid storage battery, the formation of the battery case or the initial charging is carried out while the control valve is covered with the control valve covering member provided with a locking means to the lead-acid storage battery.
