<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery and its electrolyte, which are superior in safety, high in discharging capacity and superior in cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery comprises a positive electrode and a negative electrode capable of storing and releasing the lithium and the electrolyte, and in which the electrolyte contains 10 vol.% or more of a low- combustible solvent with combustion heat of 19,000 kJ/kg or less and which further contains lithium salt(s). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
