PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a device small-sized by putting a guide shaft close to a light emitting element of a pickup. SOLUTION: The disk recording or reproducing device has on a chassis 1 a turntable 2 which rotates a disk 7, the pickup 3 which is provided movably toward and away from the turntable 2 and emits laser light to a signal surface of the disk 7, and the guide shaft 31 which guides the movement of the pickup 3. The light emitting element 5 which overlaps with the guide shaft 31 at an interval is provided at one end part of the pickup 3 along a direction crossing the moving direction of the pickup 3 in a plane parallel to the chassis 1. The light emitting element 5 has a plurality of terminals 50 and 50 projected outward from the pickup 3 and the terminals 50 and 50 are arrayed along the guide shaft 31. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
