<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion device for converting and defining only a displayed part while not converting or defining any other non-displayed part when a full definite key is depressed under a condition that converted contents are not displayed at a display part at the time of conversion. <P>SOLUTION: This KANA/KANJI conversion device is provided with a dictionary memory for storing a KANA/KANJI conversion dictionary by clause units, an input means for inputting a reading character string, a display means for displaying characters, and a control means for KANA/KANJI-converting the reading character string inputted by the input means by the clause units based on the dictionary memory, and for making the display means display the converted character string. The control means makes the display means display the KANA/KANJI-converted characters with respect to the clause where the all KANA/KANJI-converted character string can be displayed at the display means, and makes the display means display KANA/KANJI-unconverted characters with respect to the clause where all the KANA/KANJI-converted character string can not be displayed at the display means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
