PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for an electroluminescent element for improving wettability of an interface between a water-soluble polymer and an organic solvent-soluble polymer. SOLUTION: This electroluminescent (EL) element 23, in which a layer having a light emission area is arranged between a positive electrode 2 and the negative electrode 22, is constructed of a lamination structure formed of a hole transporting layer (PEDOT layer) 4 and an electron transporting light emission layer (MEH-PPV layer) 5 using different solvents for paint mutually. In this manufacturing method for the electroluminescent element 23, after the hole transporting layer 4 is formed, the electron transporting light emission layer 5 is formed on it, and in this process, the surface of the hole transporting layer 4 is treated with an organic solvent 42 for the paint 5a for forming the electron transporting light emission layer 5.
