PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable look-ahead even about continuously recorded data needing random access with a jump included halfway during continuous recording, and further to enable the restoration of the continuously recorded data when management information is damaged. SOLUTION: ID information including a flag showing whether a sector containing data is the front of continuous record, halfway in the continuous record or the end of the continuous record, and the address of a sector in which the next data is recorded is attached to each sector, and in a playback mode, the ID information is used to perform look-ahead in response to a read command from a host system.
