<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium having an additional function of protecting copyright and permitting the selective reproduction of recorded information by using BCA. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium is characterized by: optical recording main information along a concentric or spiral track; recording auxiliary information as a bar code on the optical recording part over a plurality of tracks nearby the innermost circumference of the track; arraying the bar code in an annular part of 360° around the center of rotation of the medium except an arcuate part in the annular part; and composing the auxiliary information of one or more of user specification information, rental information, area specification information, language specification information, use specification information, usable period specification information, usable frequency specification information, usable player specification information, resolution specification information, and layer specification information and recording information showing whether the auxiliary information is present. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
