<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To erase a preprint and to generate a binary image where a entered character is left, so as to realize highly precise character recognition, even when the entered characters come into contact with the preprint to overlap each other. <P>SOLUTION: This image processor is provided with a binalized image generating means 105 for binalizing the minimum value of primary color components based on a color image within a field, and a means 102 for generating a binalized image in which a preprint color is dropped out from the color image within the field, a character reader 107 is made to read the binalized image from the binalized image generating means for binalizing the minimum value of the primary color components, and made to try again to read out the binalized image from the means for generating the binalized image in which the preprint color is dropped out from the color image when a result read hereinbefore by the character reader 107 is rejected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
