摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a detection device using a battery with low power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: A gas detection device consists of a gas concentration detecting part 20 for converting the light transmittance of a gas sensor 22 that discolors in accordance with gas concentration into voltage to detect gas concentration, a controlling part 30 for receiving a detection output from the gas concentration detecting part to detect an abnormal state with the detection output, a driving power part 40 comprising a photovoltaic element 41 and a secondary battery 43, and a warning means 50. A driving voltage from the driving power part is supplied to the controlling part, and the driving voltage is intermittently supplied to the gas concentration detecting part. An output voltage generated by the photovoltaic element is used as driving power while charging the output voltage to the secondary battery. Battery shutoff is prevented in such a manner that charging is performed while electrical energy is generated by day and the voltage of the secondary battery is used as a driving voltage by night. The driving voltage is intermittently supplied to the gas concentration detecting part, and gas concentration is detected only while the driving voltage is supplied. This intermittent supply of the driving voltage can reduce the power consumption of the gas density detecting part and extend battery life to realize battery nonexchange. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
