<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a helical scan type magnetic recording and reproducing device which has pilot signal recording heads fitted on a rotary drum precedently to a recording head couple. <P>SOLUTION: The pilot signal recording heads H4A and H4B for recording a pilot signal (p) for tracking on a magnetic tape 4 are fitted on the rotary drum 22 precedently to the recording head couples (H2A, H2B) and (H2C, H2D) equipped with a plurality of recording heads which record so that adjacent recording tracks mutually have reverse azimuth angles and reproducing head couples (H3A, H3B) and (H3C, H3D) equipped with a plurality of reproducing heads having azimuth angles corresponding to those of the recording heads are fitted on the rotary drum 22. The magnetic recording and reproducing device 10B intermittently records a pilot signal (p) set to one frequency F1 on both tracks adjacent to a track that a reproducing head with an azimuth angle -β°scans by a pilot signal recording head with an azimuth angle -β°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
