PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connector with a lever member of which the lever does not occupy a wide space, and of which the protrusion for fixing the lever in a prescribed position is hardly worn. SOLUTION: A first and second housings 18, 22 for constituting the electrical connector 10 are movable between initial positions and the final positions thereof. The connector has the lever member 14 having a cam arm 26. The cam arm 26 moves the first and second housings between the initial positions and the final positions, when the lever member is rotated around a rotary shaft 36 by a prescribed range. The first housing has flexible means 104 arranged along both sides of the cam arm. The flexible beams retain the cam arm in a fixed position to limit motion of the lever member, when the first and second housings are positioned in the initial positions. The second housing has rails 112 arrayed with the flexible beams. The rails displaces the flexible beams when the first housing moves from the initial positions to an inside of the second housing.
