摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium protective structure of an optical disk drive which hardly gives rise to damage, such as flaws, on the rear surface side of an optical disk even when the work to attach and detach the optical disk is carried out in an inadequate posture. SOLUTION: A tape-like disk protective member 8 is pasted to a front surface (reference surface 9) of a tray 3 along the outer periphery of a bulging part 5 for covering an optical pickup 6, by which the rear surface of the optical disk 100 and the angle of the bulging part 5 are prevented from directly meeting together with a thrust of the disk and the occurrence of the damage of the optical disk 100 arising from the meeting together of the angle of the bulging part 5 with the thrust is prevented. The thickness of the member 8 is so formed as to project an outer peripheral part of a chuck mechanism 4 and an outer contour part 5a of the bulging part 5 to the side outer than a straight line L1 for connecting both to the diametral direction of the disk in the position where the member 8 is annexed and therefore the rear surface of the optical disk 100 is always supported by the member 8 before the rear surface of the optical disk 100 comes into contact with the angle of the bulging part 5 and the meeting together of the rear surface of the optical disk 100 and the angle of the bulging part 5 with the thrust is surely prevented.
