PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a mail server or web server of a center facility from abnormally stopping by preventing a communication line from being overloaded in such a manner that the general public immediately accesses the center facility to obtain information when an emergency situation occurs. SOLUTION: An emergency information transmission system is provided with data collection facilities 2 for measuring prescribed data including data with which an occurrence of an emergency situation is detected and the center facility 1 having a database 11 for storing and managing the data transmitted from the data collection facilities 2 and subscriber information of a portable information terminal 3 and a mail server 12 for transmitting e-mail to the portable information terminal 3. The center facility 1 transmits emergency information to the portable information terminal 3 from the mail server 12 when an emergency situation occurs. The center facility 1 is provided with a web server 13 for providing the detailed information of the emergency situation, and transmits site information provided by the web server as well as the emergency information when the emergency situation occurs.
