PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit overshoots and jitters in optical pulses for a semiconductor laser drive circuit for driving a semiconductor laser according to input data. SOLUTION: In the semiconductor laser drive circuit, the source of a pair of transistors 1 and 2 is connected to a common constant current source 4, a supply voltage VDD is applied to the drain of the transistor 1 via a resistor R1, the supply voltage VDD is applied to the drain of the transistor 2 via a semiconductor laser 3, a filter comprising a capacitor C1 and a resistor R2 is connected in parallel with the semiconductor laser 3, and the transistor 2 is turned on according to the input data DT for emitting the semiconductor laser 3. The semiconductor laser device circuit is equipped with a switch circuit 10 that applies a specific voltage such as the supply voltage VDD to the cathode of the semiconductor laser 3, and a control circuit including an AND circuit 9 that carries out control for turning on the switch circuit 10 in a period when the transistor 2 is turned off according to the input data DT, a flip-flop 5, a phase synchronization circuit 6, and the like.
