POSITION BIDDING IN PAY FOR PLACEMENT SEARCH SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system improved for managing bidding of advertisers in a data base search system where an advertiser pays in response to a listing placement of the advertiser on a search result of an Internet search engine.

SOLUTION: In a method for a pay for placement database search system including one or more search listings associated with the advertiser, each search listing includes a respective bid amount. The data base search system for a pay for placement receives a bid limit in regard to a selected search listing. Each bid amount is adjusted in regard to the selected search listing in accordance with the bid limit.
