FLAME RETARDING AGENT AND USE THEREOF

The invention relates to the development of a composition of a flame retardant agent, whereby the halogenation of the vegetable oil is dispensed with by means of a novel composition for said halogen-free flame retardant agent in conjunction with vegetable oil and/or the methyl ester thereof with nitrogenous and/or phosphorous substances. The aim of the invention is achieved by producing a flame retardant agent made from a drying oil with a proportion of unsaturated fatty acids and said components are chemically modified by at least one phosphorous component and by at least one nitrogenous carbon compound, wherein additional fluid binding components are added. The drying oil can also be replaced with a proportion of unsaturated fatty acids by a methyl ester of the used drying oils which is esterified from native vegetable oils. At least one of the phosphorous components is a phosphorous acid. Liquid binding components as well as a nitrogenous carbon compound, can also be used. When used as a wood preservative, fungicidal and insecticide properties are achieved by adding additional chemical compounds.
