A composition for the mouth which comprises the following ingredients (A), (B), and (C): an inorganic acid and/or organic acid, an anionic surfactant, and at least one member selected among polyglycerol/fatty acid esters, sorbitan/fatty acid esters, ethers of C6-14 polyoxyethylenes with higher alcohols, polyoxyethylene/fatty acid esters, and polyoxyethylene/polyoxypropylene copolymers. The composition is significantly reduced in the astringency attributable to the anionic surfactant.
