The inventive radiation protection material relates to radiation engineering and to materials used for protecting against radioactive effects. Said radiation protection material comprises a matrix embodied at least in the form of a single component or the composition based thereon and a filler encompassing said matrix and embodied in the form of a segregated polydisperse mixture which consists of metallic particles and the chemical compound thereof. The total mass of the filler contained in the material having preselected parameters, for example the thickness and weight, is defined from relations using the values obtained with the aid of a known method for determining the diffraction maximum of radiation transmission in a reference material. Said invention makes it possible to develop radiation protection materials by improving the accuracy of measuring the mass fraction of the filler using the mass and weight parameters of a material.
