<p>A method is disclosed for producing a mineral fiber mat wherein the fibers are principally oriented in the thickness direction of the mat starting from a pressed and cured mineral wool blanket having a predominant fiber direction in plane of the blanket. The mineral wool blanket is cut into slabs (1) of a predetermined width that are turned 90° about the longitudinal axis thereof as a compact set of multiple slabs at a time and, while being in this turned position, are combined side by side into a lamellar mat. Also an apparatus suited for implementing the method is disclosed.</p> |
