The invention relates to a method and arrangement for reducing lateral acceleration in a vehicle. In the method and arrangement according to the invention, a platform in a vehicle is tilted in the transverse direction on the basis of information obtained from an acceleration sensor so that the gravity exerted on the platform is always directed perpendicular to the plane of the platform regardless of the position or lateral acceleration of the vehicle.
