Method for automatic detection of the movement data of motor vehicles, especially for use in collection of tolls from toll roads. Accordingly a movement profile is determined for a vehicle in an interference-protected device built into a vehicle. Said device incorporates a GPS system that is used by a processor unit to create a log file in which temporal location data is recorded.
