The invention is a method to construct and to use portable or transferable microbe enrichment euiqpment in order to be able to handle and treat a microbiological or biochemical sample in a desirable way after the taking of the sample. The equipment constructed according to the method is a case, briefcase ir similar and it consists of sample containers and replaceable insulating padding or lining material. The sample containers as well as all other necessary equipment like the control, measurement and temperature control units and battery are embedded into the insulating material. The method allows a gas flow to be led into the sample containers and the temperature of the gas flow to be controlled and the microbes to be enriched or cultivated in a desired temperature. Furthermore the method allows the measurement of the temperature of the container by measuring it from the sample in the container and the transfer of the measurement results to a display on the outside of the equipment and by using wireless technologies to a separate device.
