The clip has a partitionable skin support plate containing a space for fixing and holding the tick between its body and hypostom. A standard cold spray (1) based on e.g. tetrafluoroethane is sprayed onto the tick via a flexible tube (2) connected to the space in which the tick is held, so that the tick is killed by freezing it to ca. -55 deg.C.
