The ratio change control for a motor vehicle front wheel drive has two parallel shafts (36,38) with wheel seatings (40,42) which define the ratios (1-6,R) of the drive. It has a matching number of change clutches (44,46). The two change shafts (14,16) are coaxial and are relatively movable in a change direction (S). Each shaft has a corresponding change clutch. The change shafts are relatively rotatable.
