PURPOSE: A fixing piece of a shelf for a closet is provided to improve durability thereof by dispersing load applied thereto, thereby preventing damage thereto and increasing supporting force against the shelf. CONSTITUTION: A closet consisting of a plurality of side panels and upper panels made of metal, wood or synthetic resin materials is provided with a vertical side wall member(2) having an open square-shaped form. The vertical side wall member is formed with fastening portions(12) having fastening holes(14), and at the inner surface thereof with a protrusion(8). The vertical side wall member is further formed with a guide groove(6). Such a vertical side wall member is fastened to the side panel of the closet using a counter-sink screw(10), and then a shelf is fitted in the guide groove.
