IMPROVEMENTS IN AND RELATING TO ANALYSIS

An improved method of identifying one or more specific genotypes which could have given rise to the results obtained from analysing a DNA test sample contributed to by two or more test individuals is provided which accounts in a non-subjective way for the effects of preferential degradation. The method uses, and the invention also provides a method for obtaining, a test sample function based on a reference sample function. The reference sample function involves a loci characteristic and gives the test sample relationship between the apparent relative contribution by one or more test sample individuals and the loci characteristic. The method is particularly suited to use in an expert system.
