The fixing elements comprising screw and plastics holder are loosely provided in at least two separate cages (24, 25) in the magazine (7) which have a common delivery end (48) leading into a sorting device (49) for separating out the fixings individually from the magazine flow. The fixings are arranged one above the other in the cages so that their support plates are inserted in the cage so that their hollow shafts are horizontal or slightly inclined projecting out from the cage and with the hollow shafts parallel to each other. A releasable barrier (28) projects into the magazine flow of at least one cage and both cages can be connected to a switching points (26).
