<p>A carrier device according to the present invention for processing and transporting one or more fibre products of predetermined length comprises two or more mouldings (1, 2), which form the body of the device, engaging means (3, 4, 5, 6) for engaging the mouldings (1, 2) rotatably together, a drum (13, 14) at one end of each moulding (1, 2) for retaining and protecting the turns of excess fibre, an arm (9, 10) extending outwards from each drum (13, 14) of each moulding (1, 2), a spring (8) mounted between the mouldings (1, 2) for biasing the arms (9, 10) apart from each other to define an accessible mid-span (40) of the fibre product (21) by tension of the fibre, guide surfaces (11, 12) at the end of the arms (9, 10) for providing a location for the fibre product (21), a positioning interface (29) for automatic handling.</p> |
