The ash collector for a smoker comprises a bar-shaped container (1), a closure body (2) and a clip (3). The container is cylindrical and at one end is closed by a tip formation (4). At the other end it is open. It is thin-walled and is particularly made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy. It is suitable for production by deep-drawing. The closure body inserts into the open end of the bar-shaped container and has a cylindrical shaft, of which the outer diameter tightly fits into the inner diameter of the container.
