The invention relates to the production of construction materials, in particular to the production of foamglass. The inventive method consists in preparing a aqueous suspension from a powdered mixture of glass, sodium silicate, a foaming agent and silicium oxide by milling it in a liquid state thereof at a humidity ranging from 20 to 40 mass %, thickening a paste by adding an acid or a dry glass powder, hardening said paste until blocks are produced and heating thus obtained blocks until foam is formed. The heating is carried out at a rate of 5-10 grad/min to a temperature ranging from 780 to 900 DEG C, aged at said temperature during 2-6 hours and cooled in a furnace. Said invention simplifies the production process of foamglass, improves the quality thereof and makes it possible to recycle waste glass of domestic and industrial origin.
