Disclosed is a method for reducing latency during interactive data communication between a client computer (12) and a server (8) connected to each other via a satellite network comprising a geostationary satellite (6). A data processing program (10) is executed on the server (8), which generates data that is transferred to the client computer (12) in the form of data packets (20, 20m, 20mUDP) and is displayed thereon in the form of an interactive user program via a display medium (14) connected to the client computer (12). The operator of the client computer (12) receives a signal by means of a command prompt (22) displayed by the application program (26), telling the operator to enter additional data which is then transferred to the server (8) via the satellite network (1) in the form of additional data packets (24, 24m, 24mUDP). By using the inventive method, the additional data packets (24, 24m, 24mUDP) are transmitted from the client computer (12) to the server (8) essentially without the server (8) reconfirming reception of the transmitted additional data packets (24, 24m, 24mUDP).
