PURPOSE: Provided is a lumbar supporting apparatus of chair which supports the lumbar sufficiently when user pulls back backward, controls easily according to the torso of the user and prevents a lumbar rest from moving up and down. CONSTITUTION: The lumbar supporting apparatus of chair with a seat part(22) and a backrest part(36) is characterized by the following: The backrest part comprises a backrest(46); a lumbar rest(48); and a supporter of the lumbar rest(50). The backrest has an elastic frame(42) erected with lower side thereof fixed to the backside of the seat part, and a flexible cover bonded to the elastic frame. The lumbar rest is provided in the middle of the backrest so as to support the user's lumbar. The supporter of the lumbar rest has the lower side fixed to the backside of the seat part and the upper side connected to the lumbar rest. By the structure, the inclined angle of the lumbar rest is smaller than the inclined angle of the backrest when user pulls the back backward, and so the lumbar rest supports the lumbar while pushing the cover.
