The heat exchanger has a flat tube (100) containing a number of channels or passages (100a) extending in the longitudinal direction of the tube. A slot (110a, 120a) is formed in the flat surface of the tube to define the channel apertures. A collection tank (211, 221) is connected to the tube, passing round the slot, so that the channels are connected to the tank via the slot.
