A method and apparatus for the internal and external coating of fibres and the possible production of composites thereof involves partial relaxation of the fibres by mechanical or hydraulic devices while passing through an aqueous polymer emulsion or a polymer solution, so that the emulsion or solution penetrates into the fibres.
