PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for installing an escalator whose efficiency of installation work is high and which can shorten the construction period remarkably. SOLUTION: In this method for installing the escalator, a plurality of parts forming the escalator are carried in a site and the parts are connected integrally in the site. The lower frame 2 of the part is held by a hold means such as a strut 3 in a condition in which the lower frame 2 is tilted. After the upper frame 1 of the part is rotatably connected to the lower frame 2 through a hinge part 5, the upper frame 1 is rotated around the hinge part 5, assembling both the frame 1, 2 integrally and setting them in a prescribed position.
