<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium having excellent ink absorbability, film forming properties and transparency. <P>SOLUTION: The ink jet recording medium comprises one or more ink absorption layers provided on a support in such a manner that at least one layer is transparent and a void fraction is 0.70 or more.
