PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for a process of preparing a capillary provided accurately with a plurality of through holes by individually polishing end surfaces of a plurality of single-core optical fiber capillary members constituting a multi-core optical fiber component. SOLUTION: The multi-core optical fiber component is constituted by inserting the plurality of single-core optical fiber capillary members, which are each constituted by inserting an optical fiber into a capillary and fitting, into an external pipe which has openings at both its ends and is characterized in that the end surfaces of the single-optical-fiber capillary members are polished and the plurality of single-optical-fiber capillary members whose end surfaces are polished are fixed with resin or/and a barrel.
