摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for refining molten iron by which the yield of manganese can be enhanced to the maximum in a decarburizing process in a converter and the amount of ferromanganese alloy added into molten steel can be reduced to the minimum. SOLUTION: In the refining method of the molten iron performing the decarburizing treatment, with the converter after applying pretreatment to the molten iron from a blast furnace, phosphorus concentration in the molten iron is lowered to the concentration of≤[the phosphorus concentration in a product + 0.015] mass% by applying the dephosphorizing treatment as the pretreatment. Successively, the decarburize-blowing is performed by adding manganese ore in the decarburizing process and an oxidizing degree in slag at the latter-half part of the blowing, is lowered by adding powdery and granular carbon source or/and aluminum source into the slag during at least a part of the period in the latter-half part in the decarborize-blowing or/and after completing the blowing, and then, the yield of manganese is improved.
