Said module (4) comprises a first interface (9), at least for establishing a communication link with the superordinate arithmetic unit (1), and a second interface (10), at least for establishing a communication link with a card (12) that can be exchangeably inserted and that contains an integrated circuit (13) disposed thereon. An interface logic (18) is electrically connected to the first interface (9) and the second interface (10) and serves at least as an interpreter (19) between a communication protocol valid for the first interface (9) and a communication protocol for the second interface (10) which is different therefrom.
