<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the stopper of a coater, which reduces the inner pressure of the coater to prevent the violent discharge of a coating liquid upon coating even if the inner pressure increases out of various reasons, and is fitted into the mouth-to-neck part 3 of a container 2 to be used, where the upper end of a bar stopper 6 is projected into a nozzle cylinder 4 on the top of the coater where the bar stopper 6 is fitted on the inside of the nozzle cylinder 4 in a liquid-tight manner in an upward energy-applied state, and the inside and outside of the coater are made to communicate with each other by pushing down the projecting portion of the bar stopper. <P>SOLUTION: The stopper of the coater is provided with an air passage 11 penetrating through the center of the bar stopper 6, and is provided with a valve 12, which blocks the air passage 11 when the container is set upside down or stand up, and makes the outside and inside communicate with each other through the air passage when the container is shifted from being stand up to being upside down or vice versa.
