摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having high color purity, to be easily produced at a low cost, for which uniformity within a display surface is high (color irregularities or the like are less) even while keeping high light emission efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A pigment dispersion layer 11i having a light absorbing function for a specified wavelength in a visible ray region is provided on an optical path and a light absorption peak in the visible ray region of the pigment dispersion layer 11i is positioned in the range of &plusmn;30 nm from an overlap point in spectral transmission factor characteristics of respective colors of a color filter 11f. By the pigment dispersion layer 11i, the quality of illumination rays is improved and not only front surface luminance but also color reproducibility are improved simultaneously. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
