PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optically active bicyclic amine. SOLUTION: This method for producing the optically active bicyclic amine represented by general formula (4) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is a 4-20C tertiary alkyl group or a 6-20C aryl group; and n is an integer of 0-2) comprises reacting a cyclic amine represented by general formula (1) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>and n are the same as the above) with an organic alkali metal compound represented by general formula (2); R<SP>2</SP>M (wherein, R<SP>2</SP>is a 1-20C alkyl group or a 2-20C secondary amino group) in the presence of an optically active tertiary amine, and further reacting the product with a copper halide represented by general formula (3); CuX<SB>2</SB>(wherein, X is a halogen atom).
