PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of the mount structure of a small-sized range finder which is to be incorporated in a camera, etc. SOLUTION: The optical range finder is equipped with a light projection part 2 which projects luminous flux on an object in the direction of the optical axis, a light reception part 2 which receives the luminous flux returning from the object, and a main substrate 4 where the light projection part 2 and light reception part are incorporated and measures the distance to the object along the optical axis. The light projection part 2 comprises a lens which converges the luminous flux along the optical axis, a holding frame 22 which holds the lens and is fitted to the main substrate 4, and a subordinate substrate 26 which is mounted with a light emitting element 23 emitting the luminous flux and fitted to the holding frame 22 opposite to the lens. The subordinate substrate 26 is fixed to the holding frame 22 at one point with a screw 5 and fixed to the main substrate 4 by soldering 6 at another point coming into contact with the main substrate 4.
